Sensitization on multiple Myeloma cancer within the community. Gas and Grocery Vouchers to Myeloma patients.
  • Cancer does not just affect your body; it can also affect your mind and many people will experience significant changes to their emotional health. Having a mental health specialist communicate with cancer patients to lower their anxiety and depression while focusing on their chemotherapy treatment and healing.
  • Cancer and its treatment can cause physical symptoms and side effects. They can also cause emotional, social, and financial effects. Treating these effects is called palliative care or supportive care. Palliative care is an important part of the care that is included along with treatments to slow, stop, or cure cancer. Research shows that palliative care can improve the quality of your life and help you feel more satisfied with the treatment you receive.
  • Teaching and helping Myeloma patients with the use of electronic information and telecommunications technologies to support long-distance clinical health care, patient and professional health-related education, public health, and health administration. This helps the patients still have access to their oncologist in case they can’t make it to an in-person visit due to tiredness from previous chemotherapy or radiation treatments. During the winter season, some patients find it hard to get ready in the morning for their doctor’s appointments and are unable to handle the snow either driving themselves or feeling anxious about the weather. Telehealth system will be delivered and provided for them with the help of our companionship program in educating them on how to utilize the device.
